A circus acrobat charged with intentionally infecting his Gold Coast girlfriend with HIV is standing trial.
34-year-old Godfrey Zaburoni today denied maliciously intending to transmit the disease, but did enter a guilty plea on the lesser charge of grievous bodily harm.
The crown alleges Zaburoni knew he had HIV for almost a decade when he began having unprotected sex with the woman in 2007.
It’s also alleged he denied having the sexually transmitted disease on three occasions when confronted by his then-girlfriend.
