MAN ACCUSED OF HOLDING UP CESSNOCK BOWLING CLUB FACES COURT

A jury has been empanelled in the trial of a man, accused of holding up the East Cessnock Bowling Club with a gun in November 2011.

Paul Mark Hart is facing three charges, including armed robbery, stealing a car, and intentionally destroying a car by fire.

The Crown opened the case today, alleging Hart was seen filling up a stolen vehicle at a service station, and was in possession of a bundle of cash.

The trial is expected to take at least five days.
