KOOTINGAL SPEED CAMERA SCRAPPED

The speed camera on the New England Highway at Kootingal will be scrapped, after a performance review by Transport New South Wales found it to be ineffective.
It’s one of three cameras across the state set to be removed.
Roads Minister Duncan Gay says fixed cameras throughout New South Wales had reduced fatalities at their locations by 87 per cent.
But, he says the Kootingal camera wasn’t providing a road safety benefit.
