A man has been charged over a violent street fight in Moree yesterday afternoon.
At around 2:30pm emergency services responded to reports of a fight at an Edward Street home, where a man had armed himself with a knife.
A 26-year-old man suffered a slash wound to his chest, while a 24-year-old woman suffered serious stab wounds and was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
It is believed the accused fled to Chester Street after the incident and police later arrested a 37-year-old man.
He’s been charged with two counts of wounding a person with intent and causing grievous bodily harm.
Police say the accused and victims are known to each other and are calling for any witnesses to come forward.
