CUDGEN PINES TO GET THE CHOP

Four slash pines planted in Cudgen after World War Two, will be chopped down before Anzac Day.
Tweed Councillors voted five to two to remove the trees, at the request of the Cudgen Progress Association.
The Association wants them replaced with Norfolk Pines, to match others on Collier Street.
The pines were planted in the 1960s by a Dutch resident, in memory of his fallen comrades.
They’ll be replaced by a plaque.
