CURRUMBIN CREW WIN OC6 CHANGEOVER RACE AT GOLD COAST CUP

As expected, Currumbin based ‘Outrigger Canoe Club Australia’ has taken out the six-man changeover race at the Gold Coast Cup.
A lacklustre swell made the gruelling paddle from Greenmount to The Spit that little bit harder.
“It was a great day for fishing more than paddling. It was 42-kays long and it was brutal but we’re happy to get a win, we’ve won six in a row now.”
The 32-kilometre Iron race was won by the Hong Kong V-R-C paddle club.
“We can deal with the heat because Hong Kong’s hot. But we were looking for surf. We really wanted some bumps but it was good enough for us because we can grind in that kind of thing.”
