Newcastle has lost one of its best-loved characters with the sudden passing today of veteran police officer, Tony Tamplin.
The local face of the force, the 54-year-old’s influence stretched far wider…from uniting couples in his role as a marriage celebrant, to his tireless work raising money for children’s charities.

  1. My husband and I were delighted to be married by Tony and got to know him since 2007. He had a beautiful soul and an amazing love for his family. We would like to send our deepest sympathy to the family and the station. Tony will forever live in our hearts.

I would like to send my condolenceses to Tony Tamplins family & colleagues, I did’nt know the police officer personally, but I felt like I did, listening to him on the radio station, admired him for his kind heart, for helping with so much community & charity work, there will never be another officer like him. R.I.P.
