Plans for its development continue, despite fears of plunging house prices, traffic chaos and pollution.

  1. This is such a sad situation but it also one that is not only restricted to Australia. It seems that no matter where you are money talks, no matter what the long term consequences are to the planet and to our children and grandchildren.

It is time the governments stood up to the super corporations and put a stop to spoiling the quality of life to so many people and contaminating water supplies, rivers and the air.

The same battle that Tallebudgera residents are facing is being fought by millions of people in developed countries and it is the governments, municipalities and corporations that are going hand in hand, with pay outs to many of the officials voted in by the people they are supposed to protect and serve. This is indeed a sad, sad world we are creating for future generations.

Tallebudgera Valley residents do not deserve the treatment they are getting in such a beautiful part of Queensland. Everywhere people are fighting these mega quarries and everywhere they are appearing and governments are doing nothing to stop or control them.

I have family in Tallebudgera Valley and feel it is so very, very wrong that the government has misled the people, having approved it before the public even became aware that it was going ahead. I was at the very first meeting in Tally Valley and feel so sad that after all these months that nothing has been done to stop this project.

I live in Canada, and corrupt municipalities are allowing the same thing to happen here, with hazardous waste being dumped on wetlands and headlands to water sources with full cooperation from the municipality, and without informing the public what was happening. Residents here are fighting the big corporations, trying to save what is left of the water quality for millions of people who rely on this water resource. It is time that governments listened to the people and not the multi million dollar rich Corporations. It is time they were accountable for their actions.

I am proud of the residents of this Valley for standing up to the Corporations and hope that the government sees what it is doing before it is too late and comes to its senses. IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO STOP IT.

  2. People from all over Australia moved into the Valley,to our piece of paradise-it is a wonderful place for children/grandchildren and us to live,as part of a community passionate about the wildlife and appreciative of the wide quiet open space where we grow all our own vegetables and fruit. Organic not TOXIC . How can the Government standby and be dictated to by a huge corporation who want to invade and destroy our way of life and those of thousands of others. My family appreciate feeding Kookaburras every afternoon on our back verandah watching koalas in the trees and marvel at wallabies that venture out of the very area they are wanting to INVADE.We live in one of the homes on the boundary and we want the Government to STOP THEM NOW before its too late then all will be lost forever!!
