WEATHER UPDATE: HOTTEST START TO YEAR FOR CENTRAL AUSTRALIA

Central Australia has endured its hottest start to any year since records began 70 years ago. That hot dry air has been affecting the NW of NSW with little to no rain during the past 6 weeks.

The dry weather is set to continue into the second week of May and may go beyond that..

Night time temperatures are cold thanks to cool southerly winds along the coast pumping that cold air northward.

Tomorrow those winds will swing to the SE and that will increase the shower activity along the coast with nothing expected to make it across the ranges.

The forecast for the week ahead is very similar with the shower activity confined to the coast while contracting to the north.
