Industrial action is set to take place on Sunday after talks between union members and Port Waratah Coal Services collapsed.
Both parties have been debating job security and a pay rise for more than eight months.
Union member Daniel Wallace says PWCS wants to change the existing agreement in a way which he believes would be detrimental to employees.
PWCS says it’s disappointed, but will continue negotiations next week.
