ATTENTION DRAWN TO LYME DISEASE – BUT WHAT IS IT?
A group of North Coast residents are trying to get tick-borne Lyme Disease recognised by the State and Federal Governments.
They’ve formed a support network to raise awareness of the illness, which they say often goes undiagnosed.

Really great to see some more local coverage on this issue! The medical system in Australia, NSW etc must be called to account in dismissing these very sick people. Please keep the Lyme stories coming, as it continues to be big news with many people in the local community, around Australia, and overseas!
Great to see more media involvment in our battle for recognition of lyme disese at least more people that have seen this may be able to be saved the suffering good work nbn
Years ago we couldnt even find a doctor that would treat for tick bites (lyme). Because of the awareness generated now, there are a couple of lyme literate doctors on the North Coast. When you think that the Bayer Pharmaceutical Company, puts out Posters advising pet owners there are more dogs treated in this area for tick bites than anywhere else in NSW, for the government to ignore those findings, and considering they havent done any research in 20 years, in this field, you have to wonder WHY?
Please lobby all Governments to accept the evidence that is there ALREADY. There are non so blind as those that will not SEE.

I would hope that NBN would do some stories on Lyme like channel 7 today tonighjt has done., the problem being these channel 7 programs were never broadcast into the coffs area, which is a tick hotspot
I suggest a interview with Dr Peter Mayne of Laurieton, would be of benefit to the community.
check his web site out google peter mayne Laurieton medical centre
LYME DISEASE it is a tick related illness diagnosed and treated early should be OK, if this does not occur and it progress to chronic big trouble
