NURSES STAND UP FOR PATIENTS AND BETTER CONDITIONS IN COFFS

Nurses received plenty of appreciation from road users, in Coffs Harbour today…But they say they really want support from the New South Wales government.
They claim patient care is at risk, with new industry pay and conditions being discussed, which won’t close the gap between city and country areas when it comes to patient care hours.
“If you were to come in for an elective knee replacement in Coffs Harbour hospital , you would get 5 and a half hours, where as the equivalent hospitals in the metropolitan areas in Sydney would get 6 hours.”
They hoped to present their petition to Coffs Harbour’s state MP, Andrew Fraser, but he wasn’t in his office.
