Organisers spent today preparing the stadium, in anticipation of tomorrow’s inaugural Timber Cup clash at Oakes Oval.
The rugby league match will be an Indigenous all star showdown between Bundalung north and south.
“There probably will be some grudge hits against one another because this is a chance to actually have a hit at your mate and when you are out there you’re no mates – you’re there to play for a timber cup.”
Organisers hope to turn the Timber Cup clash into a yearly event.
