A Bar Beach man has suffered a fractured leg while chasing a man who broke into his home on Bar Beach Avenue last night.
At about 9pm the male offender climbed onto a balcony and entered a family room, when the occupants saw him and yelled out.
He then took off, jumped off the balcony and onto a dividing wall between the owner’s house and next door.
During the chase, one of the occupants fell onto the driveway and suffered a compound fracture to his leg. The other chased the intruder along Bar Beach Avenue to Parkway Avenue, where he then got into a small red hatchback and sped off towards Darby Street.
Police found the offender’s shoe in the driveway and will begin forensic testing.
