James Nitties is on track for just his second top 25 finish this year on the Web.com Tour in the US.
Fellow Hunter golfers Nathan Green and Nick Flanagan failed to make the cut, while Nitties sits five shots off top spot.
The Australian looked like making a charge up the leaderboard on the back nine, setting up another birdie putt on 15.
Nitties once again proved to be his harshest critic, despite a decent tee shot on 16.
In the end this miss on 18 cost him a shot, as he heads into the final day at six under.
