HUNTER INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING ANNOUNCED

NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional Infrastructure & Services Andrew Stoner has announced $7.6 million for a roads safety and improvement project in Muswellbrook and $9 million for a CBD renewal project to improve traffic flows in Singleton.
“These projects have been chosen for funding by an independent panel for their capacity to support economic growth and productivity, ease infrastructure constraints, and support NSW communities affected by mining,” said Mr Stoner.
Local Member for Upper Hunter George Souris said the new projects would help alleviate some of the impacts of mining on the community.
“Singleton and Muswellbrook are the communities most impacted by mining in NSW, and a lot of pressure is placed on the towns’ infrastructure and amenities as a direct result of this,” Mr Souris said.
There’ll be opportunities for more Hunter Region infrastructure with the second round of funding for the $78 million Resources for Regions Program opened today.
