It’s been a sad day for the family and friends of young Northcliffe Surf Life Saver, Jerry Dennis.
The 17-year-old died after coming off his board during a training session in a Mermaid Waters canal yesterday afternoon.
It’s still unclear what caused the teenager to fall off his board.
“I suppose we’re just re-grouping as a club and a family. We’ll go over what happened yesterday and provide as much counselling and support as we can.”
Investigations are underway.
