FORMER CRICKETER NATHAN BRACKEN RUNNING FOR SEAT OF DOBELL

Former Australian test cricketer Nathan Bracken has thrown his hat in the ring for the Central Coast seat of Dobell.
He’ll be going up against disgraced former Labor MP Craig Thomson who resigned from the party in May, announcing he’ll contest the seat as an independent.
Thomson currently holds the seat of Dobell with a 5.1% margin but is expected to lose in September.
Bracken announced his intentions on twitter this morning.
“I will be running as an independent for the seat of Dobell for the Election and Lawrie McKinna will run in Robertson as an independent,” he said.
Lawrie McKinna is Gosford Mayor and general manager of football with the Central Coast Mariners.
As a constituent of Dobell, I’m not impressed. Out of the 9 candidates I have the opportunity to vote for, he is one of 2 that clearly could not care enough about the people of Debell to so much as leave an email address or contact number for constituents to ask him where he stands on important issues. Is this a sign of what we can expect if we vote him in as our local member? It does not breed confidence.
