An Armidale man has been fined $1450 for creating fire hazards over the weekend.
It is alleged the man lit a fire in a dry creek bed on his Edwards Drive property to burn off rubbish.
After leaving it unattended, the flames spread to a neighbouring property and burnt 15 acres of conservation land.
The Dumaresq and Herbert Park fire crews attended and quickly got the blaze under control.
