The New South Wales Government have announced a $10,000 grant to Tamworth’s mental health facility, Billabong House.
The money will go towards a revamp of the centre’s kitchen and hospitality workshop.
It is expected to help with the transition of patients back in to the work force.
“Recovery has tended to be isolated, people stuck at home . Too many coffees, too much smoking and too many midday movies. This is about transitioning people back into the community and making sure that they’re supported.”
Renovations are expected to begin within the next month.
