A Southport shopkeeper was hit with a metal bar during an alleged attempted robbery overnight.
Police allege a 17-year-old boy attacked the attendant just after eight, but left the Southport Nerang Road convenience empty handed.
He was found by police a short time later.
“There was a short police pursuit and the male went into custody without further incident.”
The teenager will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
The worker suffered minor injuries.
