A couple and their four children have been left homeless after fire detroyed their Coffs Harbour house overnight.
Luckily, all members of the family were either out or away when the blaze broke out, spreading quickly through the home and destroying most of their possessions.
The night sky lit up as the blaze took hold inside the low set brick house in Combine Street Coffs Harbour around 1:30 this morning.
The fire was so fierce it looked like spreading to adjoining homes.
The family lost most of their possessions in the blaze but they did have home and contents insurance.
The cause of the fire is not known – but arson is not suspected.
