SCALE MAIL: NO CHARGES LAID OVER SNAKE PARCEL

No charges have been laid after three snakes were found in a parcel at Glendale last week.

The snakes ranged in length from 20 centimetres to over a metre, and included this sought after python breed, which can fetch upwards of $300.

“It’s a Woma Python it’s one of our most beautiful snakes in Australia. It’s from Central Australia, very sought after in the industry”, says snake catcher Geoff De Lozze.

Snake catchers say for anyone who comes across a snake, in the mail or in the bush, there’s one simple rule to follow.

“Best thing you can ever do, especially if you cross a snake in the wild is to stand still watch where the snake’s going, back off away from the snake and let him go on his way”, he said.
