WESTS BOOK THE FIRST PLACE IN 2013 REAL NRL GRAND FINAL

NEWCASTLE RUGBY LEAGUE
Major Semi Final
WESTS 22 – SOUTHS 12

Wests are the first team through to the Real NRL grand final, after edging out Souths in the major semi.
The Rosellas made a great start, Justin Smith forcing his way over.
As usual, there was no love lost between the two local rivals.
But the fans had to wait until the end of the first half for Wests to extend their lead through Jermaine Ale.
The home side made it 16-nil shortly after the break thanks to Peter Manion.
Souths finally broke through Lewis Schneider to get within 10 points.
Another try to Smith gave the Rosellas breathing space, but Jerome Wilson gave the Lions some late hope.
In the end, this play summed up the day for Souths .. the Lions now face Kurri next weekend.
