There’ll be dancing in the streets next week, with the launch of Dementia Awareness Week events across Newcastle.

Hunter Street’s Wheeler Place will come to life between 1.30-2.30pm on Monday, with The Arts Health Institute and Alzheimer’s Australia joining forces to raise awareness through song and dance.

This year’s theme for Dementia Awareness Week is Brain Health: Making the Connections, with Australians being encouraged to make sure their brain matters by making changes to lead a ‘brain healthy’ lifestyle.

There will be dementia-friendly tours of Newcastle throughout the week.
