ARSON SUSPECTED FOR TERRANORA LAKES COUNTRY CLUB FIRE

Resident anger over the abandoned Terranora Lakes Country Club will, no doubt, flare up again after flames tore through the derelict building early this morning.
30 triple zero calls alerted seven New South Wales and Rural fire brigades who were faced with a water dilemma.
Crews set up a ‘relay pump’, to feed water from one appliance to the next, from the nearest hydrant.
First, they had to contend with a grass fire – so the hose lines wouldn’t burn, while they tackled the building blaze.
“The section that was alight on our arrival was a write off totally involved we weren’t going to save it so the strategy was to set up attack lines to stop it progressing to the remainder of the building.”
Firies believes squatters may be to blame.
