A draft program outlining the steps Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will take to ensure pool owners are complying with legislation is now on public exhibition.
Council is proposing a staged inspection program starting at the end of the month, to work through more than 5,500 inspections.
It’s part of a state-wide initiative which requires all pool owners to register online, and is designed to reduce drowning deaths.
Submissions on the Draft Swimming Pool Program close on October 28.
