FREE BEER FOR FIRIES LANDS CATHO PUB IN HOT WATER

What could be better after a hard day fighting fires, than a free drink at the local pub?
But cold beer landed the publican at Catherine Hill Bay, near Newcastle, in hot water with the law – after one licensing officer tried to stop the party.

This licencing officer needs to get a life, what would he/she do if the RFS fought for days to save his/her home in blistering heat & winds.
Didn’t hear of the licencing officer volunteering to help fight the fires, go without proper meals & sleep for days or be away from his/her family even though their families & properties may have been in danger.
The law is the law but this is one circumstances when an idiot like this should look the other way.
Bless the RFS
These firer figthers are away from thier family who could be in the fire areas but thier homes could be in the fire line how does one beer make a difference
and thier where having something to eat that police officer badly needs to get a life these guys have been doing this for days
Shame on the licensing office. We at Bathurst also witnessed a licensing office riding the owner of a very well managed pub. It seems power has gon to there heads
This is the best friendly little pub I know. My now husband took me there to show me how great it was, so I moved down here and Catho pub has been a regular visit for us. Fire fighters do this job for FREE risking there lives .,only to have some suit tell Catho pub they can’t show there gratitude. Sad suits. God bless all the fire fighters.
The licensing officer should be put on disciplinary charges. He’s clearly undermining the efforts of our courageous fire fighting heroes just so that he can be a parasitic revenue collector – totally UNAUSTRALIAN!!!
I think if it’s an offence under some law to give away free beer to fire fighters (or anyone for that matter as long as they are over 18) who are doing great work like these guys and gals do then it’s the law that needs to be changed. Lets hold the law makers to task and bring them out into the light, not only the poor individuals who are sent out to enforce these stupid laws. Should the licencing officers looked the other way, yes, would they have been suspended or sacked for doing so – sadly quite probably.
ok people so its wrong for firefighters to get 1 free beer and an egg and bacon role when they have risked there lives to save homes then why does no1 chuck up a stink when some pubs do free beer at footy grand finals and state of origins til 1st points scored in my opinion i would very much rather a guy who has been risking his life to save homes get a free beer.
Oh dear…I wonder of the licensing officer had a good reason…
My favorite saying, “Rules are made for the guidance of the intelligent and the obedience of fools” seems to apply nicely here don’t you think.
