Fairfax has revealed its restructure of Newcastle and Hunter publications will claim marginally less jobs than first thought.
Back in August, the media giant announced 69 full time staff could be out of work, under plans to overhaul its newspapers and websites.
Today, employees were told Fairfax is now calling for voluntary redundancies of about 65 full-time equivalent positions locally, including 42 editorial jobs four less than originally proposed.
