A sea snake on the starting line didn’t scare Olympian Emma Moffatt away from winning her first Noosa Triathlon title.
Moffatt emerged from the swim with the leaders before making her move on the bike.
She entered the run leg with fellow Gold Coaster, Ashleigh Gentle.
But the 29-year-old extended her lead, cruising home in 1 hour and 58 minutes.
“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, this race isn’t something I do nvery often , this year it was my last rae of the year and I really wanted to finish the year on a high, and I feel like I’ve done that now. I get to join so many great names on that list of winners.”
Gentle, who won last year’s event, came home in second place.
