Macquarie Generation Chief Executive Officer Russell Skelton has resigned after an inquiry into potential breaches of internal practices.

Mr Skelton stood down in September when the inquiry was initiated.

Former High Court Justice, the Hon. John Dyson was appointed to look into how changes were made to employee contracts without Board approval and whether changes made to contracts were lawful.

The Board concluded internal approval requirements were not followed when some employee contracts were entered in to. A Macquarie Generation Board statement says there is no evidence of misconduct or fraud and that all contracts were validly made.

The Macquarie Generation Board says it accepts Mr Skelton’s resignation with regret. Steve Saladine, from Delta Electricity will replace Mr Skelton.
