Further north, Clarence Valley Council has re-elected Mayor Richie Williamson and Deputy Mayor Craig Howe for another year.
The ballot for both councillors was seven votes in favour and two against.
Mayor Williamson was also recently selected to maintain his position as chairman of the Pacific Highway Taskforce.
He’s vowed to lobby government to complete the highway upgrade as soon as possible.
