Newcastle ratepayers could wake tomorrow to find they’ll be a little lighter in the hip pocket.
Councillors are tonight voting on a recommendation to increase rates five per cent OVER the allowable cap, a move council’s administration says is vital to help pay for the city’s infrastructure.
