A 29-year-old Newcastle woman who murdered her lesbian lover’s de facto partner had been jailed for at least 17 years in the NSW Supreme Court today.
Tanya Louise Lane was sentenced to a maximum term of 22 years for the murder of Steven Quire at a Rutherford home in 2010, because she wanted him out of their way “permanently”.
The court heard evidence of a rocky love triangle, with Lane in a “close, passionate and intimate relationship” with Mr Quire’s
partner, Renae Burns.
