With Christmas edging closer, Meals on Wheels volunteers are being rushed off their feet.
Today they received a helping hand, with Charlestown MP Andrew Cornwell delivering meals.
“For many of them it’s their only contact with people that day or week so Meals on Wheels is not just someone who provides nutrition, it provides company and companionship for people throughout our community.”
In the lead up to Christmas, the Charlestown Service will prepare more than 1,000 meals to cover the days it’s closed during the festive break.
