A river boat has gone under in Emigrant Creek, at West Ballina.
Fire and Rescue and Hazmat crews were called to the scene on Smith Drive, following reports that a boat was sinking just after 9 a-m.
They found the 54 foot timber boat almost completely submerged… crews worked to contain any potential spill from 300 litres of diesel on board.
A local salvage company will be called in to re-float the vessel.
