16 YEAR OLD MAN CHARGED IN RELATION TO THE BASHING OF A 23 YEAR OLD AUTISTIC MAN IN TAMWORTH

A 16-year-old has been charged over the brutal bashing of a 23-year-old autistic man in Tamworth on Monday night.

The teenager was arrested at a Kurrawan Street home last night and charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Intimidation.

Police say a second male present at the time of the incident wasn’t directly involved.

At this stage that male person is believed to have not been involved in the actual incident and is more in a witness role, so the offender that has been charged is the only offender at this stage that wil have any action taken against them.”

The 16-year-old was granted bail and will front Tamworth Children’s Court on June 3.
