AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST MORNING TEA LAUNCHES IN TAMWORTH

Last year Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea raised $4.4 million for cancer research across the state.
This year the Cancer Council is hoping to improve on that, with the goal to raise $5 million.
Today the North West community launched this year’s event.
“One in two people will be affected by cancer by the age of 85, that’s equivalent to one Australian every five minutes, which is you know an average tea break. So we’re asking people to come down have a cuppa for cancer and just get involved.”
Country Music star Aleyce Simmonds lending her voice to the cause.
“I know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of the big c word, you know so, if there’s any opportunity I get to try and raise some money and awareness for it I’m all for it.”
The main event is set for May 22, participants can register online.
