TEEN LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AFTER ‘DIFFICULT RESCUE’
A senior paramedic who treated a teenager, 40 metres down a Binna Burra cliff-face yesterday, says it’s the toughest rescue he’s ever done.
A 19-year-old and his two friends were attempting to climb down the side of Lower Ballanjui Falls, when he lost his footing – plunging the equivalent of more than 12 stories.
The lucky teen only came to a halt when he became lodged on a tiny rock-ledge jutting from the cliff, about a foot wide.
“I actually had to put Jaye on a small rock ledge above the survivor and then he had to climb down the cliff face himself to get to the survivor.”
