MINES DOWNTURN COSTS MORE JOBS AT AMPCONTROL

The ongoing downturn in the mining sector has been blamed for the latest job cuts at Hunter-based firm, Ampcontrol.
Around 25 workers will be made redundant nationally, as the company reviews its operating costs against a backdrop of lower coal prices, and the shelving of major mining projects.
Ampcontol, which makes electrical components for the industry, had a round of job cuts 18 months ago.
