CLARENCE VALLEY COUNCILLORS VOTE AGAINST PAY RISE
Clarence Valley Councillors have decided against giving themselves a pay rise.
They were entitled to a 2.5% increase endorsed by the Local Government Remuneration Tribunal.
Mayor Richie Williamson says councillors recognised finances are tight and are telling ratepayers the council needs to tighten its belt.
The decision means councillors from the region will miss out on a $440 increase, with their pay pegged just under $17,500 a year.
