Cuts to education in last week’s federal budget will be the main topic on the agenda at a teacher’s dinner in Taree tonight.
The New South Wales Teachers Federation is hosting the event as part of National Public Education Day.
It’s calling for the Abbott government to commit to the Gonski agreement.
“They are now only funding it for four years, not the full six year agreement and in NSW that means $2.1-billion of much needed funding for our students being ripped out of our schools right across the state.”
