GRAFTON ANGLICAN DIOCESE APOLOGISES TO VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ABUSE

The Anglican Diocese of Grafton has placed an ad in a Northern Rivers publication to apologise to victims of sexual abuse at the North Coast Children’s home in Lismore.

The former Bishop of the Diocese resigned in May after admitting that victims were turned away, when allegations of sexual abuse were reported between 2008 and 2011.

The church has asked victims for forgiveness, and admitted its handling of abuse claims was unacceptable.
