Police are investigating a fire that broke out in a two-storey apartment just before 8am in Jesmond.
Three fire crews responded to the blaze in Harvard street, extinguishing the fire before it spread to neighbouring properties.
No-one was inside at the time, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
