The Federal Member for New England is under fire from Labor for his decision to move his ministerial office to Armidale.
Barnaby Joyce says the move is appropriate, given Armidale is a hub for agricultural research and a business centre.
“When we had the temerity to actually move it to an area that’s involved with agriculture Armidale, where there’s a university, CSIRO, the breed societies, apparently that’s outrageous.”
The cost of the move is yet to be determined, but Mr Joyce confirmed it will be operated by three staff.
