A controversial development application goes before Newcastle councillors tomorrow night, for a 100-lot manufactured home estate at Mayfield.
Council officers have recommended the $1.3-million project be approved, saying it’s acceptable, subject to conditions.
But opponents have raised concerns about over-development of the land, which is zoned for recreation, as well as traffic impacts, inadequate parking and flooding issues.
The developer, Mayfield Unit Trust, couldn’t be contacted today.
