Whale watchers caught a lucky glimpse of the famous albino humpback, Migaloo, as the 8 tonne celebrity was spotted off Port Stephens this afternoon.
The rare mammal sneaked quietly past Newcastle, with many missing the chance to spot the east coast regular.
Even a school group on a Newcastle cruise failed to sight the giant of the deep.
The famous whale was spotted leaving Sydney yesterday and continues north.
