CROWD FIGHT MARS LAMBTONS WIN OVER EDGEWORTH IN NPL
In the Hunter’s National Premier League, new State Cup champions Broadmeadow are in danger of missing the finals after losing to Hamilton.
Weston belted Adamstown, and the Gunners upset the Blues.
The Eagles and Jaffas were fighting for second spot at Edgeworth – Dylan Holtz had an early chance.
Lambton eventually opened the scoring, Peter Macpherson’s first shot wasn’t great, but his volley was impressive.
Edgeworth was back on level terms when Jaffas substitute Wilson Edwards scored an own-goal.
Holtz had the opportunity to put the Eagles in front after the break, but Danny Ireland had him covered.
In the final seconds, Lambton’s Riley McNaughton somehow chipped Jim Fogarty to secure the three points.
The end of the game was marred by a scuffle in the crowd.
