The fishing trawler which sank after coming into contact with Queen’s Wharf on Saturday will remain on the bottom of Newcastle Harbour for the time being.
The port corporation anticipates the boat will salvaged within the next couple of days.
Containment booms have been put in place to stop oil seeping into the harbour.
Water police are investigating how the trawler veered off course and careered into the wharf.
