A mining company has offered to replace an inflatable rescue boat, stolen from Nobbys Surf Club, then damaged beyond repair.
Cougar Mining contacted the club today, after the boat was found at the base of Hexham Bridge yesterday.
“By the time it’s on the beach and ready for surf work you don’t get much change out of $16,000 so for someone to donate it is just fantastic.”
Club officials hope the new boat will be ready for the start of the summer patrol season.
